Description:
This videotape contains examples of all three major types of work measurement techniques; time study, motion analysis, and work sampling. All three measurement systems are useful for different reasons in documenting how long it takes to perform a task. A time study is performed at Cooper Instruments on a final assembly operation of a temperature gage. MacGreggor Golf uses a predetermined motion analysis system to develop standards for work performance. Cramerton Automotive uses work sampling to find areas of improvement in an inspection operation. Kohler uses motion analysis to determine if a change in a sink packing operation is indeed an improvement or not.
